* Import and export cargoes are largely classified into the FCL and LCL cargoes in the case of container cargo.
CFS function
- CFS(Container Freight Station) : container freight collection point It is a place designated by a shipping company or agent to receive cargoes to be shipped from the shipper or to deliver unloaded cargoes to the shipper.
- It is a small amount of cargo that cannot be filled in a single container, and such cargo is carried by a freight forwarder. It has to undergo consolidation with the other LCL cargoes, and the place where this consolidation is executed is the CFS warehouse.
- The LCL cargoes are transported by small trucks, etc., and arrive at the CFS warehouse located in or near the pier, and it is transferred to CY only after miscellaneous and mixed work is conducted and made into the FCL.
- Hence, one of the most important roles of a forwarder is mixed work, which is often referred to as console.
